Rendezvous With Meghna Naidu
Often accused of stripping her way to stardom, Meghna soon hopes to silence critics.
In Amol Shetgi's Rain, she plays an educated blind girl trying to live her life in an urban society. According to the Kaliyon Ka Chaman girl, it will be an eye-opening appearance.
"One of my closest friends is visually challenged. She is helping me organise workshops so I can better understand what it means to be blind. I know it will be a challenging role and very different from anything that I have done so far. For once, it's not just about singing and dancing in skimpy outfits; the role requires a great deal of acting talent too," claims the voluptuous beauty.
Meghna denies being 'inspired' by Rani's role in Black,
"I am a great fan of Rani Mukherjee but Rain has been in the pipeline for the last six months. There's no direct correlation between the two films. However I would love to learn something from Rani's performance if I can."
Though blind, Meghna promises she will be a vision of loveliness.
"Since I am cast in Rain, there's bound to be an element of glamour. Every role I do is hot. My forthcoming films - Jackpot, Mashooka and Ishq Diwana - have everything viewers want. Even in Rain I hope to live up to their expectations. Like other actors, I too keep experimenting with my roles because you never know what clicks and when," she says.
"Shooting for Rain has already started and I expect it will be complete very soon. The director is planning to release the film in the next three months," adds Meghna.
