An Exclusive Interview With Ayesha Takia

Young, chirpy and excited-looking, debutant Ayesha Takia makes a pretty picture. In an interview, Ayesha talks of her debut movie, Taarzan – The Wonder Car.

What is your role in Taarzan?
I play the role of Priya in the film. She lives with her dad in London. Priya then moves to India to be with her family and friends. It’s here that she meets Raj [Vatsal Seth], a mechanical engineer and falls in love with him. The car then comes into picture and the story then takes off from there.

How is the music of the film?
Himesh Reshamiyya has composed the music. I like the music of the film. There are currently three tracks on the promos. But the track that I like best is O Sajan picturised in Goa.

Which is your most memorable song?
Like I mentioned before, the track O Sajan required me to do some dance moments standing on a valley peak. Now that was very scary since I have a phobia for heights. It took some time for Abbas-Mustanji to convince me for the shot. But now that it is done, shot in Goa, it looks great. I like this track best.

The car is getting a lot of footage in the film. What does Ayesha get to do then?
[Smiles] See, no Hindi film can be complete without a lead pair. And in this case, it’s Vatsal and me. It’s only after we meet and fall in love that the car comes into picture. So, in a sense we are instrumental in taking the plot forward.

  What are your expectations from this film?
The movie has a never-tried-before concept. It has a car that flies, swims and does a whole lot of action. So all the car-crazy people, children and youngsters are sure to love it. In typical Abbas-Mustan style, it also has a love-story between Vatsal and me. It’s a fun-film. Hope people like it.

  Any other projects that audiences get to see you in?
I am doing Socha Na Tha for the banner Vijeta Films. Sunny Deol’s cousin Abhay Deol is debuting with this film. I also have Nitin Manmohan’s Dil Maange More with Shahid Kapur and Soha Ali Khan. Currently these are the films that I am looking at.

  Anything you want to tell your audiences?
The film has a fresh concept. There is newness and a first-time feel to the film. It has a lot to offer the action-crazy audiences. So, go watch the film, you’ll enjoy it!

  Future plans…
I love movies. So, I will continue to do work that interests me. I want to do every kind of film. You are going to see me for a long-long time.
