I would love to do a film on badminton: Deepika Padukone There's no secret behind Deepika's preference towards badminton. Her father Prakash Padukone has been a national
champion in the game. In fact, Deepika played badminton with her father recently in a media event. Now, she wants the
sport to be part of a Bollywood flick. "Look at what 'Chak De India' did to hockey. I would love to do a really good film
on the game of badminton. In fact, efforts are on to put a project like this together," Deepika is quoted by IANS, as
saying.
"I would like to contribute as much as possible to sports. Yes, I'd support badminton more than any other sport. But I'd
like to support Indian sports in every way possible," the actress of Om Shanti Om and Bachna Ae Haseeno said.
Coming from a family with athletic background (her sister too is a golfer), Deepika says she wanted to do an action
movie for a long time and her wish was fulfilled in 'Chandni Chowk To China' with Akshay Kumar. "Yes, I always wanted
to do an action character. I'm glad I got an opportunity. Akshay Kumar was a fantastic co star. The way he comes on
the sets and goes through the scenes of the day and the way he improvises, is tremendous." |
