Akshay met deadline to be with family on Diwali
Akshay Kumar had a tough race against time recently. Shooting almost 16 hours a
day for Percept's 'Tasveer' in Cape Town, Akshay really wanted the entire unit
to take a two day break for Diwali. Akshay came back to Mumbai to celebrate
with his family.
Akshay had been travelling throughout the year shooting for his film in various
parts of the world, and had hardly got any time to spend with his family. He
wanted to be home for at least Diwali. But being the professional that he is,
Akshay did not want to keep the entire unit working while he was taking a
break. Hence, he completed his shoot by working day and night, so that the
entire unit could take a break too.
There were rumours that the actor wanted to throw to a lavish party on the eve
of Diwali and call over many celebrities from the industry. Says Shailendar
Singh, the producer, "Akshay is very close to everyone on the sets and he
didn't want anyone to work on Diwali. He had planned a lavish party for the
entire unit on Diwali in Cape Town, before he left for India. But Akshay is a
thorough professional and he understood the needs of the producer. Hence, he
took only a two day break." |
