Imran needs variety in roles Kidnap may not have done too well at the box office but that does not deter Imran Khan from experimenting with
different roles. "I need to experiment. I love challenges and excitement constantly or I get bored easily and that is why
I need to do different roles" says Imran.
Hailing from the Nasir Hussain family might be an advantage for Imran but he sees both sides of the coin. "It has its
advantages as well as disadvantages. My family has been very hardworking. My nana didn't have money when he came
here. He became an assistant dialogue writer and screenplay writer. He met a dancer, who was my grandmom and
Shammi Kapoor got them married later. Nani wore Shammi's wife's clothes and jewellery. He says that what we have
achieved today is because of them. I may get chances that others won't but at the same time since I am Aamir Khan's
nephew and they will expect more from me," Imran says. "It's like facing a double edged sword. I cannot change their
expectations I will just have to accept it and face it," he adds.
Having had a hit with his debut venture 'Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na', Imran says, "It was a simple, modest and small
budget film but it became a big hit. We were first timers. I was hoping we would be successful but never expected it to
be so huge." The actor is now looking forward to his next film 'Lucky' opposite Shruti Hasan. "I am excited about Aamir
mamu's film 'Delhi Belly' too. But like mamu, I would love to do one film at a time," he says. |
